I’m Venetia Nielsen, life coach and founder of Women Empowered.

Known to clients, family and friends as a warm-hearted and passionate woman, I feel that I have finally, in my late 40s, found my way to inner peace and self-love. And because I have, I am passionate and committed to helping other women bring the same love, light, joy and wellness into their own lives. Through regular coaching sessions, techniques and homework we will co-create your life purpose statement and vision for your life. As your coach, I will help you stay in touch with what really matters to you, remind you of all the blessings in your life and work through your fears, blocks, challenges and celebrate all that is shifting for you.

My life has been an amazing journey so far. Blessed with an incredible career that started in the 80s as an Assistant News Editor and progressed into the Promotions Writer/Producer at British Columbia Television (now Global TV), I then spent most of the 90’s at the Vancouver Museum as Marketing Manager. When I came across a natural wellness business I was so inspired that I spent the next 10 years as a Marketing Manager and Franchise Owner with Saje Natural Wellness. After running my own retail store for almost eight years, I realized I had learned many things the hard way which is why I am the go-to-expert for women who want to create their own businesses. If you’re interested in starting your own business I would love to support you in being successful and doing it with ease.

Like many women, I grew up fantasizing about marrying my Prince Charming, having a family and living happily-ever-after. It was shocking to find myself facing my 40th birthday with no husband, no kids, and no prospect of any kind on the horizon. However, by the end of my 40th year I had found a fabulous life partner who came with a ready-made family. Over the past eight years I have enjoyed co-parenting our two boys, now 16 and 18 and just this past year, a lovely teenage girl has come to live with us, too. It makes me smile when I realize that you can just never tell how your family is going to show up. I am also reminded not to be attached to how things show up in our lives, but to appreciate the delightful surprises that life brings and to focus on all the wonderful things that I do have and not on those I don’t have.

Now, as I embark on my new calling as a Life Coach, I am excited to work with women helping them to live a life they love and to find their authentic, deep roots of self-love and self-acceptance. What I love most is the personal sense of connection I feel as each woman begins to shine her light brighter into the world.
